Day 1 and 2 in Rajasthan; Jaipur

Yay Camels and Elephants!

City Palace in the afternoon

So let me start with day 1 and 2 in Jaipur the Pink City!

On October 5th, SYA left Vizag at 6:30Am and hopped on SpiceJet to get to Delhi.

After getting off the plane, we got on our spacious, airconditioned bus for an 8-hour ride.
Yes, an 8-hour ride.

By the time we got to the hotel, we were all exhausted.

The next morning, we started our day around 8 in the morning and went sight seeing.

Our first destination was the Amber Fort, which was built by Maharaja Man Singh, the Rajput commander.
After spending a couple of hours there, we moved on to go on camels and elephants!

It was the highlight of the day for me!

Four/Six of us got on each elephant; the ride wasn't long but it was so much fun :)

Then my friend Molly and I got on the camel - there was not enough cushioning so we were able to feel the camel's backbone moving. It was slightly uncomfortable because we knew that the camel was in pain.

Oh actually.. I should say that the highlight of the day was my first shopping trip!
Callie, Brooke, and I were accompanied by our Hindi teacher Alka and Indian History teacher Nazma to the local market.

I finally got to bargain in India! (Vizag is a "refined"-haha this is an inside joke- city so most of the places that I go to have fixed price)

Now I have to go :(
But I promise I'll write another post tomorrow!
